Y/DIRECTION: Bilingual Agency Platform

Y/DIRECTION launched as a Cairo-born creative and strategy agency positioning itself as "the questioning agency" — a promise a conventional agency website would immediately undercut. It needed a site that demonstrated the thesis rather than asserting it: Arabic and English carried as equals with genuine RTL rather than a mirrored translation, a deliberately small page count instead of the twenty-page agency convention, and enough editorial craft to survive prospects who judge a partner in under a minute.

What we built

A bilingual (English/Arabic) marketing platform on Next.js 16 and React 19, RTL-native from the ground up so the Arabic site gets its own type lockups and hierarchy rather than a mirrored layout. The public site is deliberately compact — approach, services, work, packages, team and contact on one considered homepage, plus a Field Notes publication with its own article pages and a per-project work detail route. A Go and PostgreSQL backend powers a React admin console so the agency edits its own content in-house. The design system holds a single-accent discipline — one Direction Yellow moment per view — against hand-cut collage artwork, and every animation ships a reduced-motion alternative.
